Main field of research activities

Geochemistry, mineralogy, petrology. In details:

- study of calc-alkaline volcanism and related mineralization of Hungary

- genetic interpretation and REE mineralogy of granite magmatism;

- REE mineralogy and geochemistry;

- isotope geochemistry;

- electron-probe investigation of karstic bauxites with special consideration to their rare earth element geochemistry;

- geochemistry of bioessential trace elements

- 1959-1962 Pestvidéki Mineral Mining Co. (mine geologist)

- 1962-1965 postgraduate student of HAS

- 1965-1966 Hungarian Mineral and Ore Mines (mine geologist)

- 1966- Laboratory for Geochemical Research of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (from senior research fellow to director)

- 1998- Research Centre for Earth Sciences (director-gerenal 1998-2005)

Current position: Professor Emeritus Instituti
