- egyetemi doktorátus, BME Vegyészmérnöki Karán, 1980. A disszertáció címe: "A Hód-I jelű fúrásban lejátszódott kőolajképződés geokémiai vizsgálata" 

- a földtudomány kandidátusa, Tudományos Minősítő Bizottság, Budapest, 1994. A kandidátusi disszertáció címe "A biológiai markervegyületek hazai alkalmazása a szénhidrogén kutatásban"

Kutatási tapasztalat:
Több mint 30 éves tapasztalat a geoszféra szerves anyagainak (természetes és szennyvizek, talajok, üledékes kőzetek, kőolajok, szenek, stb.) geokémiai és analitikai kémiai módszerekkel történő vizsgálatában; és a kapcsolódó korszerű analitikai, elválasztási és dúsítási alkalmazások területén (UV/VIS, IR, GC, HPLC, GC/MS, stb.).

Külföldi ösztöndíjak:
1980-1981. Vendégkutató, Bristoli Egyetem Szervesgeokémiai Egysége. 1 év.

Díjak:

- 1973-ban pályamunkámmal "Akadémiai Ifjúsági Díj"-at nyertem, MTA Budapest

- 1987-ben az MTA X-es Osztálya kutatási jutalomban részesített két reakció kinetikai munkánkért (Lefler János szerzőtársammal együtt).
